Greetings and welcome to the Cobh Peoples Regatta. Boating
has long been a way of life for many here in Cobh. That's not
surprising when the Island boasts the second biggest natural
harbour in the world, making it an ideal location to explore
the regions best water sports.
Situated just 15 miles from Cork City Cobh can be accessed
by both road and rail. The town itself is charming with many
good restaurants and bars. The only way to explore the town
while belending in effortlessly with the locals is on foot.
Every August the harbour becomes a focal point for a regatta
where small local sailing and rowing craft gather for races
and not to say the least some craic agus ceol.
During the 3 day festival you'll find live music in the island's
many pubs and clubs and maybe spot the odd fire-eater.
The 2008 regatta takes place on the 8th 9th and 10th of August,
so if your after a wild weekend and a pint or a civilized drink
in the elegant srroundings of an ocean liner why not join us.
We have been known to do things in style.
Please feel free to use this site to browse for recommended
accomodation.
